I ran into this today and ended up having to delete my home page (on a test site) in order to get a module off of it that was erroring out the entire page. And that got me thinking, is there a way to delete a module from somewhere other than on the hosting page itself? There must be and I'm just experiencing a brain cramp. Or maybe there isn't an obvious existing function for this (which would make me look a LOT smarter). I could continue deleting entire pages but doing so through the admin > pages screen bypasses (last time I tried) the recycle bin so rebuilding the page has to start from scratch.

Thanks
Mike

 Hey Mike,

Only do this if you're completely confident of your SQL abilities and you've done a backup of your website and database first, but you can go to Host > SQL and these queries could help you find out and delete the offending module:

----Use this to find the module ID that is causing problems:
Select * from modules

----Use this to delete the evil module:
Delete from modules where ModuleID = <PutBadModuleIDHere>

Once you've done that, go to Host > Host Settings, scroll down to the bottom and click "Restart Application".

Hi Mike,

When faced with this sort of issue in the past, I was able to get at the offending module by entering "layout" mode, which does not actually instantiate the modules.  You might try this method before deleting entire pages.

Great idea brandon!  I think your idea will be just a bit easier than mine.  :)

Thanks to both of you. I knew there had to be a way out there and both seem pretty straight forward.

Thanks again!
Mike
