customise the login and regsitration process in terms of style.  I have several sites running on DNN 4.4 and was able with a bit of mucking around to customise these files.  So I have a neat login control and regsitration page.  I have since then installed 4.9 and I am going to use this on a separate server for a new site.  Only to find out that the abstraction has increased with these controls to the point that they might not be customiable at all.

I am beginning to beleive that the DNN core term are doing this on purpose so DNN sites allways look like DNN sites.  We really need to customise every area if one is to really get the full benefit of using an open source CMS such as DNN.

Is it not possible to use a token based approach so we can build some HTML and insert tokens such as [usernamefield][PaswordField][SubmitText][SubmitImg]

Cheers

Albert,

please be aware, that DNN 4.5.5. introduced the option for multiple authentication providers with individual login screens, which required the DotNetNuke login to be encapsulated. If you have a need for a customized login, simply create your own authentication provider from a clone of DNN auth and install it.

Though you can use a custom authentication provider to define a new UI for the login screen, this does not extend to the user registration page.  Third-party modules are currently the best solution here.

Exactly, although there doesnt appear to be any third-Party modules that allow for the styling of the registration page.  they allow for the customisation in terms of fuctionality but not the look and feel
