Hi Folks

- Was taking my first look at the Rich Text Editor  - if we decide to use DNN to manage our organisation site  one of the most important things will be to give Web Editors the ability to manage Page content - Alot of what we do will just be text so we would be using the text editor alot - obviously we want  to have a consistent look and feel so we would only want to give the editors limited options in terms of style. There are 2 dropdowns for format and Style with pre-populated Lists (this would be the obvious place to manage style options)

- my question is where the heck are these lists POPULATED FROM ??   The style list is full of all kinds of dross which would confuse the hell out of people ! the format list looks more appropriate but I cant seem to change it. (I had a go at changing the styles for H1 H2 etc in the Portal.css but it made no difference to these dropdowns  - does anyone know how  I can control what ends up in these lists ? - any help appreciated

many thanks

J

The style list is generated by a XML file. you will find more info here

http://docs.fckeditor.net/FCKeditor_2.x/Developers_Guide/Configuration/Styles

For DNN, the editor provider makes it configurable. You can choose from using the efault .xml, a custom .xml or a dynamic generated file based on the current page styles from you skin, portal, etc.

This is configurable via the web.config (fckeditor section) or in the editor itself by being an admin or host and pressing the "custom editor options" link
