I don't complain often, but the ads placed around these forums are overkill. At the header page for "Let's Chat About It" I counted twelve ads, including SourceForge at the bottom. Earlier today I couldn't get to a thread because something from ads.doubleclick.net was hanging up so the page wouldn't load.

I understand that ads are needed for revenue, I'm just asking - will someone look at possibly scaling back the deluge?  How about a new, premium role on the site - no ads?  I'd pay a reasonable fee for this.

I feel better now...

Hey Sam,

I couldn't agree more, but for what may be differnet reasons. Although I agree that the abundance of ads add a great deal of weight to the page, what I find [most] annoying about the ads is the 'real estate' that they consume. It took some time to get accustomed to the ASP.NET forums "going commecial" (like they need the money). However, I find with the current DNN skin, it makes these forums "cramped".

Realizing that DNN requires this revenue stream, and these ads are probably inevitable, perhaps a different layout (along with a reduction of ads in the forum area) may help foster a stronger participation.

...just my thoughts...

PS- there is a similair thread working in the ASP.NET forums

Ads?  I don't see any ads.  Maybe I'm doing something different?

Cheers,
