Brian - why so negative - that is not a fair statement. if you look at Gemini you will see there are over 60 fixes already checked in for 5.1.1, and there is currently only one outstanding Major Bug which I am not sure counts as a Major bug yet as I don't know how widespread it is.

And by the way I am one of the paid resources, and I can tell you that even though we have a few paid developers right now we still don't have enough to do everything so things are prioritised - our current priority is to get a 5.1.1 release out, and 60 fixes to the "Open Source Core" is a significant number.
