Why do the majority of users not have a LastIPAddress in the users table (DNN 5.2.2)? Should this not always be present?

In the last 2 days, only 14 out of 77 new users on PokerDIY have a LastIPAddress.  I need to do some GEOCoding on their IP but I need this filled in for all users - I would have thought a request ALWAYS has an IP associated with it?

        WHERE CreatedOnDate > DATEADD(d, -2, GetUTCDate())
    and lastipaddress is not null
