I was rolling right along with my site when I noticed that a file (for subscribers only) was able to be reached with the url in the address box. So, I read my trusty book about DDN and discovered there are three ways to create a folder. All of mine were set to the standard file system. So I recreated a folder using "secure file system." However, when I linked to a file within that folder, it shows a 404 directory not found and it doesn't matter how I link it, the same is true.

I guess therefore I am terribly confused. Is the file system and either or setting, or can you have some folders as standard and some as secure? If I am able to have some as secure, how on earth do I get these files to open when I click on the link?

I would like my subscription files to be as secure as possible, but if I cannot get the file to open that is a problem for me. I don't want people to be able to access the file if someone just randomly sends out a link in email to that file...which is why I thought the secure file system was the way to go. All my links that were originally set up using the standard file system come up just fine. Do I need to change a setting in the admin or host area and if so how? I am still very new to DDN, so please be precise if you are able to help!

One other question I have about the files...is there a way to rename a folder?

Thank you for your help!
Deb
