Hi, I would like to comment on the silly post approval policy. I posted around noon and only now the post was accepted.

Why not allow posts to be shown immediately and then have the moderator do a quick check to make sure they adhere do DNN policies??

It's not that easy because showing up to check posts is not always on everyone's mind. Yes, we are moderators and core teamers, coders for the core, project leads and almost every one of us work. We have been lowering the guidelines for making users trusted so we ask that you please remain patient. I am not sure what time your noon was, but i haven't seen a post in the queue remain longer than lets say 2 hours today. Maybe there was a problem in the queue and it didn't show up, not sure. I looked at your first post time vs the time this was submitted and it was 6 hours difference. I admit that moderation is not always as fast as it should be for approval, but the reason for the process is to make sure things like duplicates are not processed (which happens many times in a single day), to keep the trolling from going on, to make sure things are in the proper place, and last is that being trusted in a community is something that is normally earned and this is no different on asp.net.

Couldn't we try a problem post approach? IE users report a post as being inappropriate without the moderation queue?

It seems to me that a lot of posts appear that aren't appropriate (eg conversations about when the next release is going to appear in the "annouce it" section) regardless of the current approach and the delay in posts appearing often puts me off answering relatively straight forward queries as I tend to assume that a reply is already in the queue.

If the users were to police the site and understood that is no moderation prior to post it might help user engagement with the site.

A moderator who recognises you need's to catch one of your posts in the moderation queue to unmoderate you (we also have lots of users who have different names across the two forums). I've updated your status.
