I am trying to get a new site up at WebSecureStores.com.  Apparently they are having similar problems with other DNN sites where the email just doesn't work.  No Errors.  No email.   I started with 4.03 then upgraded to 4.03.1. This is especially problematic on registration issues.  Does anyone know about this problem? ...or a solution. 

If this is not a DNN problem are there any suggestions for another reasonably priced host?

Are you sure you got your versions right? While 4.0.3 exists, 4.03 doesnt, and neither does 4.03.1... i suppose you mean 4.3.0 and 4.3.1 ;)

Regarding e-mail: there is one issue with sending newsletters assynchronously in both 4.3.0 and 4.3.1, however.. sending all other types of mail should work just fine. A common error in sending mail is if the asp.net worker process does not have access to the windows mail object. If you receive an error sending mail, can you post it here? (log on as host to see complete error messages)

Hi,
i'm having similar problems using Newsletters. (DNN 4.3.1).  I cannot send any emails using the Asynchronous setting.  I am logged on as host and the message says that the mail was sent but nothing ever arrives and no erros in the log.  It all works fine with the synchronous setting.

Also, when the "send method" is bcc, no email arrives.

i'm using dbb 4.3.1, xp pro, sql server 2005.

Q how can we give the
asp.net worker process access to the windows mail object

I just tracked down a problem with a new 4.03.02 site at WebSecureStores as well. It was all in the SMTP setting. They had entered an IP#. Switched to mail.mydomain.com (auth none or basic) and the email started going through. A second issue was the Admin user account. They had entered a bogus email address. I had not assigned another account to be the Admin. Entered a real address and the notifications started arriving. Looking through the Log Viewer helped to track down the issue.
