Next week we'll be releasing DNN Platform 7.4.1 and beginning work on finalizing DNN 7.4.2 so that it is ready for release in late July.  In order to keep our attention firmly on DNN 8 which is a very major release we are going to be keeping 7.4.2 pretty small.  If you have issues that you want to work on for 7.4.2 you should submit your pull request by May 31 to guarantee it makes it into the release.  We will continue processing the pull request backlog for 7.4.2 until June 12th.  Any item submitted between May 31 and June 12th is not guaranteed to make the release, although we will make our best effort to get everything included.

After June 12th we will be putting our full focus on DNN 8 which is due out in September and which still has a lot of open work items yet to be completed.

According to Joe's reply to a different post, DNN 7.4.2 has been re-scheduled to September.
You may download and try DNN 7.4.2 beta, which has been announced to support upgrades.
Like with any other new feature of DNN platform, you should try this carefully.
