I am after a very simple version of DNN with fck editor and file upload using a access db, does such a thing exist? I am not a programmer just after a simple CMS that I can use for building basic websites that clients can update themselves, nothing complicated.

Not out of the box, but you could create it easily enough by modifying the usual install package.  You'd need an earlier version of DNN (the current version doesn't support Access) and you can remove from the install package those modules, skins, etc. which you don't wish to install.  You can use a tool such as the TRT Control Panel by Dave Buckner to do things like limit the admin options more quickly and easily than by modifying DNN manually.  You could even customize an install template so that when you create a new portal, it displays the pages, modules, content, etc you want your clients to see initially.

It sounds like you can do what you want --- but it would take a little work.

The last version of DNN supporting Access is dnn 2.1.2 (from more than 2 years ago).. If you want to use a free db, why not use SQL Server 2005 express? Anyway.. there are a lot of hostingcompanies offering very cheap dnn hosting including SQL server

cheers,

I have downloaded and tried to install 2.1.2 on my webspace. The install files do not seem to have a DotNetNuke.mdb included which I don't quite understand, is my host supose to create this somehow when DNN installs.

At the moment when I try and install I get

Access to the path 'E:\home\site\site.com\verify' is denied.

Also I am guessing 2.1.2 will not include FCKeditor, will I be able to install this on 2.1.2??

Thanks
