Hey Guys,

need some info. all i want to do is resend the password. the membership.password is blank

here is the code.

                   Dim objUserInfo As UserInfo
                    objUserInfo = UserController.GetUser(PortalId, User.UserID, True)
                    objUserInfo.membership.ObjectHydrated = False
                    UserController.GetUserMembership( objUserInfo)

  ' send user welcome message
            vresult = DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.Mail.SendMail(objUserInfo , MessageType.UserRegistrationPublic, PortalSettings)

everything else but the password is there.  this shouldn't be this hard.

any ideas?
Richard

The code in /Admin/Security/SendReminder.ascx.vb should show you how to do this.

Specifically the cmdSendPassword_Click function.

Thanks Scott,

just a little irratated, customer is pushing to finish a new automation system on DNN. She has been trying for a year to do this with the vendor of her business software. i get a working system for her in 10 days and she is freaking about sending password reminders.  i drew a blank for about 3 hours before i posted.

Hi Richard, that's just the nature of the beast, customers will always find something wrong!

with that little gem i just finished an automated reporting system for drug test results. we get emails from lab. break them in individual reports. process the reports. load info into the UDT module for different customers. and allow searching in the UDT module. it posted almost 200 in 3 minutes. it is pretty cool to watch.

best part was i asked for a webservice originally and was told they were upgrading their system to asp pages.
