I cannot find a buld user upload module. I know SQL can perform this task, but I am a little confused about it all and I don't want to corrupt my Database.

Any suggestions, links, solutions out there?

There are modules available out there that do bulk importing/exporting/updating of users.  I have used BulkReg ($20 on SnowCovered) and it worked well for creating several hundred users.

Unfortunately I don't think any of these bulk import/export tools will populate any custom profile properties you may have.  You'll have to write SQL statements to populate those yourself.
