Hi,

I have FCKEditor version 2.4.1, build 14797 installed on DNN 04.08.04.

I have set up a number of custom Profile Properties, and on the ones where I have selected RichText as the data type (this then uses the FCKEditior when a user goes in to update their details) it will not save any of the information typed.

Funny thing is, when I change the data type to just text it will save. And then when I change it back to RichText it will display anything that was entered and saved while the field was a text data type, but will not save any changes/additions now set back to the RichText data type.

Not sure if this is an issue with the FCKEditor or the User Profile? Any direction on this would be appricated.

Marney

AFAIR there had been issues with previous versions of DNN core framework, please upgrade to 4.9.4, also to fix a number of security issues.

Thankyou Sebastian!

The upgrade has fixed the saving problem, but has presented a new one.

When I display the information collected in the User Profile via the RichText datatype elsewhere on my site, it shows the HTML tags as well.

For example:
<p>&#160;"The commercial sector is generally acknowledged as oneof the most significant contributors of greenhouse gas emisions."</p>

I found a post that suggested turning off HTMLdecoding would fix the problem, but this did not seam to work. Any know work-arounds to this?

Thankyou again for your Help.

Marney

Check out the advanced editor options beneath the editor, there are 2 for HTML encoding/decoding, you may specify for this instance of the provider.

Hi Sebastian,

This is still displaying the content with the <p> tags.

To clarify, I have logged into my portal with the Administration account, navigated to "edit my porfile", clicked on "show custom editor options" link underneith the Rich Text editor, from the "other Editor options" menu, I have selected both "HTML encode output" and "Reverse HMTL encode output" to be No.

I then apply these setting to the Instance.

The above does not work. Am I completing this correctly?

Marney
