There's a web.config option that controls all HTTP uploads to DNN (or any ASP.NET application, for that matter).  Find the line in web.config that looks like this:

    <httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="8192" />

And adjust the maxRequestLength so you can upload the file size you need.

Related to this, I have a site which is used by my wife's french class to download practice video sessions. I am unable to upload anything over about 2 Mb even after I change the settings

Where are the files stored for a DotNetNuke site? Is it possible to FTP them to the site and then reference them from the document page?

I tried searching for this but couldn't find anything.

I will keep on looking.

Mike

I at least am able to do this by using the following url. http://www.website.com/folder/filename.rm

If there is a more elegant way to do this, please let me know.

If you use FTP, the location of your portal files is dotnetnuke\portals\n, where n is the portal ID.  (For your main portal, \portals\0).  After you FTP the files, you will need to go to the Admin->File manager and click "synchronize database and file system" so that DNN recognizes the files.
