I am new to dotnetnuke and have recently installed the community version.  When i go to http://localhost/filename, I keep getting the following error:

HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error

The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

Error Code 0x800700b7
Config Error Cannot add duplicate collection entry of type 'add' with unique key attribute 'name' set to 'LogoffHandler*'

WOuld somebody be kind enough to let me know what I am doing incorrectly? thanks!

Check that you do not have any web.config file in any parent folder of your installation. Also make sure you have a virtual directory / application defined in IIS for your website.

thank you!

I have removed the additional installation of the product and have now come across the following error:

HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorized

You do not have permission to view this directory or page because of the access control list (ACL) configuration or encryption settings for this resource on the Web server.

Any ideas what may be causing this to happen?  It is more tham likely me, but cannot seem to figure it out...

Will i still need to define a virtual dirctory/application in IIS?  If so, how do I go about doing that?  I promise I catch on quick once I have a little direction and I thank you for your help!

The best way to install DNN CE is to use the Web Platform Installer as it handles all the permissions and set up for you.  Try it out here http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Development...
