Hi Folks. My first post.
Ok - I am working on a website for our company. It needs to be in two parts - a CMS system that our marketing people can play with, and an application site that our customers can log into for ordering, checking on items etc.

I have already created the Master Page in ASP.NET and set up the banner with a dropdown to go to our other international sites. The color scheme and layout has to be pretty precise, and has been determined by head office on high!!!.

That leaves the ContentPlaceholder on the Masterpage. Can I run DNN in there, with a suitable skin that does not have a header on it or must DNN run as the top level webpage.

Any advice be most helpful as this is my first time with DNN.

Take Care
Dave

DNN should run on top level, there is no use in running it in a frame, which may cause a lot of trouble. DNN does not support Masterpages, but comes with its own flexible skinning engine.

Like Sebastian said. DNN would be used at the top level and you'd create skins/containers to get the required look.  With the skins you can set colors, fonts, graphics, areas to put info, etc.  Containers let you use a different look for each module on the page.  It may seem overwhelming at first, but there are many companies out there that will create skins for you and there are many how-to's for those do-it-yourselfers.

Also worth noting is there are books for beginners to learn a lot quickly from as well and a good marketplace where you can buy and sell your own creations.
