Hi....I am new to DNN and recently inherited a DNN site. We redesigned our web site and moved the domain name to a new server. As a result we were no longer able to login to our old DotNetNuke site on the old server. We set up a new domain name (e.g. oldsite.ourdomain.com) to point to the old DNN site and it does bring up the home page, but when we try to login to our DNN site in a browser we get this error:
***********************
Server Error in '/' Application.
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /Default.aspx
***********************
Is there a way to access the login page?

Did you disable the old website running on the old domain name? Is it still accessible?

you need to add the newly assigned domain name as portal alias. atm you need to manually add the record into database table portalalias.

The old site is still running on the old server. How do I add the newly assigned domain name as a portal alias in the database? Since I cannot login to the admin page with the link I have do I do it directly in the database?

Yes, you will have to do this in the database directly, in the PortalAlias table. After you add it you will need to reset the application pool in IIS as well so that DNN clears the cache.
