Hi all

Yet another complete newbie who requires a free clue.

Like all good newbies I'm clawing my way up the vertical learning curve and doing all the things newbies are supposed to do - play around and add portals, pages, content, etc. But I've hit a snag.

My nice new test site has been ok until now when the 'Add Page' and 'Add Module' buttons have become disabled, on 'Common Tasks', on any of the pages that I've created. They're still enabled everywhere else, ie Admin and Host pages, though I've also just noticed that the 'Update' button on 'Current Page' is disabled as well.

I've obviously done something totally dumb, but I've no idea what and Google wasn't much help. Any pointers will be much appreciated.

TIA

Regards

Ian

Sorry to follow up to my own post, but I think I've solved my own problem.

I deleted my test portal and recreated it (not without its challenges in this case) as I noticed that the buttons were enabled in the DNN parent portal, so figured it had to be my bit that was problematical. I got the same thing with a new child portal, but...

while the buttons are greyed out, they are still actually usable. Sometimes you have to click twice, but they do actually function.

Ok, one small step.. :)

Cheers

Ian

this sounds very strange, does it only happen with items in the control panel? you may want to test free Advanced Control Panel from www.oliverhine.com, which comes with a bunch of improved functions.

Yes, just those three buttons and just in any Child portal. They just *look* disabled, and the 'Add Module' button always seems to need two clicks to get it to fire. Probably just another newbie screw-up. :)

Cheers

Ian
