My business partner recently passed away quite unexpectedly.  He was getting very involved in DotNetNuke and I had very little experience with it.  I now need to be able to support those customers.  i have a background in CMS so I can do it, I just need to know how to get into existing DotNetNuke sites that he was working on.  Is it just a matter of going to the site and logging on using the admin id and password (if I can find it)?  He wasn't using professional edition, just the basic community edition, if that matters.  And, if I can't find the userid and passwords, am I out of luck?

Hi Tim,

I am sorry about your loss, please accept my condolences.

There are several levels of permission roles built into DotNetNuke.  For all sites you will have an Admin and a Host role. Host is the highest level followed by Admin and then Registered users (if enabled) and of course unauthenticated. If you can not find your partners usernames and passwords you can gain access to your sites, but you will need FTP access to the sites. Your web host should be able to help you with this. To gain access to a host role, download this Let Me In Page from Evotiva. Then upload the page to the root of your DotNetNuke website and browse to it. You will be able to create a host or super user account. Once you create the account delete the LetMeIn.aspx page from your server immediately for obvious security reasons. Once you have access to the host level you will be able to view all other users and do any administrative task needed.

If you havn't already, download the user and super user manuals http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/M... There is also alot of great info in the WIKI http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... and video library http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/V...

Hope this helps.

Rich
