I am hoping to get DNN adopted for corporate intranet use.  I have installed 5.6.3, 5.6.4, 6.1.0 and 6.1.2.  Additionally I have tried a few different skins.

The wall I keep hitting is display issues when viewed with IE.  Is there a version or skin I can use that won't hide content or menu options from my users?

Do the display issues go away if you use the Dark Knight skin? That's the place to start.

After that, you should make sure that you are using a "Standards Compliant" skin, one that uses an XHTML doctype. If not, you are going to run into a host of cross browser issues. (You can set a fall-back doctype on the Host Settings page. I think that the best recommendation is XHTML Transitional.)

Finally, which version(s) of IE are you supporting? Which other browsers.

Note that this shouldn't be difficult, but old skins may be problematic for 6.x versions of DotNetNuke especially. I think that Chris Hammond's Multifunction Skin is a good alternative to Dark Knight, and he has blogged about modifying the skin for your own requirements.
