I started DNN with 6.2.4.

After a month or so, a GREEN MESSAGE saying "Updates Available" appeared at the top of the screen.

About three days ago, a RED MESSAGE saying "CRITICAL UPDATES AVAILABLE" appeared at the top of the screen.

I had thought that, since I started with 6.2.4, I would be able to complete it with that same version.

Do I need to install these updates in order to complete the course ???

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Jeff

Hi, these are just messages to inform you that updates are available, you can ignore them if you wish and also turn them of in the Host > Host Settings. However, DNN is continually evolving and correcting security issues, so it's a good idea to update to DNN 6.2.5 (you can leave DNN 7.0.0. for later).

So what's the mechanism for updating ???

How do I do that ???

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

Jeff,

Go to the downloads page, download the upgrade package and unzip it in to your DNN root directory. Go to your sites home page and the upgrade wizard will start.

Back up your web.config file and get a full back up of the site and DB beforehand just in case.

Mark
