We're working with DotNetNuke version 5.6.1 dor more than 2 years now, and everything works fine :).
So, there's no real reason to upgrade to the latest version. Or is there?

I'm interested in a list of functionalities or improvements that we would see if we'd upgrade to the newest version. Our last upgrade wan't quite a succesfull process, so our current motto is: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Can anyone tell me why we shóuld upgrade to DNN7? Is there a list of all the main improvements in each version somewhere?

Thanks, that's very helpful.

Do you also have a list of features of the different versions? so that we can see what we are missing out on, using version 5.6.1?

Joost, for security reasons, you should at least upgrade to 5.6.8
Upgrading to DNN 6.1.5 would add redirect features for mobile sites.
Upgrading to DNN 6.2.8 would also add new user registration and social features (advanced user profile, messaging, social groups)
Upgrading to DNN 7.0 just provides you with a new skin and control panel (which is not always working), but opens up new options for module developers (DAL2, Services Framework)
Upgrading to DNN 7.1 (expected to be released in a few weeks) will provide you with advanced URL management (like URLmaster did), improved search, new file manager and enhancements for content localization.
Besides, there are a number of bug fixes and minor improvements in every upgrade.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold
