It has been quite sometime now since AS was sent packing. My site is now at 7.2.2 and thought that it might be time to complete the removal. Seemed to be okay on my test site. Deleted the module and files from the production site and found that I had to reinstall the DLL.

Now there are entries in the Events Viewer coming from the Forum (AF) and the Scheduler. Here's one.

Question is how to be rid of AS completely. It is like AS is a bad smell that just won't die. I'd like to remove old modules and code that could be the cause of some issues that just keep appearing.

Hi

As per error, it seems Active Social module has not been un-installed completely. Please check /Forums/GeneralRVForums.aspx page, does AS module still exists?  Then you might need to delete that module as well.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply Sibabrat. You are correct that the module didn't uninstall correctly. Found files remaining and 5 tables in the DB remaining. However no modules remain on any pages. I remove the remaining files and dropped the tables, looked in the Schedule Table and found this entry "Active.Modules.Social.Tasks.FeedTask,Active.Modules.Social" that had not uninstalled. Deleted the entry which fixed that issue. There are more with reference to Active Social.

Hi

As per error log, I think there are still some modules exist in tab 'GeneralRVForums' having tab id - 250. In database you can look for tables like, Tabs, TabModules, Modules and ModuleDefinations.

Thanks

Thanks again Sibabrata for your input. I have looked through about every table that I think could have a reference to AS and have come up empty on all counts. What I do see is that there are around 30 Stored Procedures for AS in the DB eg. ald_activesocial_Category_ListByGroupType . Wondering if it would be safe to drop all these?
