Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.
In order to participate you must be a registered DNNizen

@Sebastian:

We can always count on you to be passionate about any DNN topic and we all thank you for that. :)

The blog wasn't meant to be a thorough and overly detailed description of step-by-step instructions, but rather a helpful introduction to the things people should look into. And as noted, it was contributed to by numerous people in the community, including myself. Next time, maybe Clint could include you in the research phase as well? Written any other way, the blog post would be a book and not a blog post at all. The line has to be drawn somewhere.

Honestly, I do wish that you would have reacted to the blog a bit differently. The way you've reacted here in the forum thread will only discourage other community members from attempting to write similar helpful blog posts to help the community. I hope you understand. Please continue to do what you do, but maybe be a bit nicer? :)

Also, your follow up blog post is great, though both blog posts would benefit more from being linked to each other. You and Clint should both link to the other respective blog post to get the most impact from these two disconnected pieces of information.

The community will only grow from this kind of working-together, instead of a blast of forum replies as seen here. You've been around long enough to know exactly what I mean. We've seen what the hey day of DNN growth looked like.

I hope you understand that I am not trying to do anything but jump in and help everyone do the best that they can to encourage more community contributions like this - instead of anything to the contrary.

Thanks again for your overwhelming passion and contributions.

Good start, Clint. I would also add that if you need "pro" help, you can always contact a DNN partner for a consultation.

Will,
no offence meant from my site, I just noted down my comments, while reading the blog post.

Erik,

Thanks for the comment... in the 5th before last paragraph at the bottom... the "Build a Project Plan for Cleanup and Upgrade" I have a line that states:

 "If your needs are more urgent then you may want to reach out to a DNN partner or contact some of the vendors in our ecosystem."

So I did show the partner channel some love :-)
