Very strange. Maybe it's the increased page rendering that affects you. But I don't believe the effect should be that big. Are you on a slow host? Maybe the extra computation needed for combining and compressing files is has this effect on total performance.

Well i think the combined files are not made each and everytime, they are done maybe every web.config change or something.

Well... let's assume dotnetnuke.com is the typical site (text.. not much action)

Grade

C
Overall performance score 80 Ruleset applied: YSlow(V2) URL: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/

The blog page is worse.

Given that.. to get a 90+ per the blog, it must be a finely tuned test. :)

Let me get notes together...

Let me say this, if users can clearly tell it's slower.. guess what, it's slower! It very much slower.

Actually I have a site running 5.6 with tons of modules that actually do things... and one with 6.1.2 with nothing on it and it's over a second difference per page. I wasn't referring to Wills blog for that.

I have about 30 sites to compare as well.

My thoughts. Wills charts are missing something, do you know what it is? If you are familiar with performance testing applications you will know.

I'm curious if 6.1.1/.2 have the same numbers... odd that the charts show 6.1.0 but I won't assume anything.

Bottom line.... I guess I need to disable the CRM part to see what happens. My customer isn't happy which led me to test other sites of mine and compare.
