Hello everyone,

I am really hoping you can help me. I installed DNN 5.6 on a fresh server and I am almost finished the site... but I notice search is not working. I installed DNN 5.5.5 on a sub domain and it works fine there. My symptoms are as follows:

  • When logged out it appears that the search results pane is hidden
  • However, when logged in as HOST I see the search results shows up this message "This module is hidden to regular users if there is no Tag=xxx querystring parameter"
  • This is a sample search: http://eapconsultants-ie.access.secur...

I have seen others on forums with this problem but not in the same guise as me.

Any help on this greatly appreciated

make sure, there is only one (1!) instance of the search results module on any pages of your site including the recycle bin.

I should also say that this is not caused by the skin as when I revert to the stanard Minimal Extropy skin it's still a problem. I have not added or removed a search results module to any of the site... it usually just works and is there so I guess there is not more then one per page right?

Hi there. You actually got my mind going and when I tried to add a new module "Search Results" to the SearchResults.aspx page it seem to work. Looks like in DNN 5.6 a Search Results module does not actually exist by default on the search results page!
