Hello,

Not sure why this is happening, but on the Home page, whether I add an Announcement module or basic HTML section, when in View mode, I get an error that says "A critical error has occurred.  Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I added other modules on other pages other than the home page is all seems ok, just on this page.  When in Edit mode on the home page, I am able to add an announcement.  It's just when I switch to View mode this error is produced and displayed with a red 'X' right above the content pane where the announcement module is.  Strangely, I can see the announcement module, but there no content inside the announcement that I added when in Edit mode.

Any suggestions?

I figured it out.  The annoucement module was on the home page of my portal.  I went to edit mode and selected the "Settings" menu from the announcment module, then change the page settings Cache provider to File and Cache duration to 0.  Apparently with the 5.04 version, it lacks default settings for the Announcement module with the <cacheTime>3600</cacheTime> instead of <cacheTime>0</cacheTime>.  I hope that is fixed in the next release.
