Hello,

I have read over the forum postings for clear indication of the roadmap for Active Social.  I have not found anything explicit.  Here is the summary of what I have found based on different blogs and forum threads and reading between the lines:
  • All of Active Social and all of Active Forums will be included in CE
  • Mail Connector will be included in CE
  • Active Purchase will only be in PE and EE (this is the only module/feature that will be exclusively in PE and EE)
  • All of the Active Module modules will be integrated in the different Editions for DNN 6.0 release

Can anyone confirm or correct this?

Like many other people we hold numerous AS and AF licenses, some of them Enterprise.  The AS roadmap should be clearly stated.  If not now, when and if not now, why not?

Regardless of the politics and pros/cons, I believe the entire community is due a clear explanation of what DNN corp plans to do with Active Modules and the target role out plans.  This will allow community members to make the decisions necessary to run our business and to clearly communicate to our clients (who are asking me the same questions) and set their expectations.

Other questions:
  • What is the target release date of DNN 6.0?
  • Why buy a new AS license if it will be free in DNN 6.0?
  • When will AS have its own Module forum?

Can someone "in the know" shed some light on the fear, uncertainty and doubt that currently prevails?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi,

I'll be buying another enterprise license this coming week for a new client. That client, and my existing clients, would all like to know the roadmap for AS. Why the secrecy?

Thanks,

Hi,

I am very happy to report that Will has answered most of these questions on his blog:

And the news is good for Community Edition:
"all existing Active Social functionality will be available as part of DotNetNuke Community Edition.  At this time, Active Social integration is planned to be available later this year with DotNetNuke 6.1."

SO DNN 6.1 has been released.  Is Active Social now available as a module within DNN 6.1?
