DNN Genii

When I create a subdirectory using FTP, Dotnetnuke FileManager does not see the subdirectory

For example, using FTP I navigate the a subdirectory within the portal named Flash
Then create a subdirectory called Home Vid
And upload the flash file and controller associated with it

When I use DNN FileManager the Directory Flash is listed but not Flash/Home Vid

Thanks in advance

if you create files/folder outside of dotnetnuke (e.g. via ftp) you need to inform dotnetnuke of them so that it can use permissions against them i.e. a new folder created by ftp should not be automatically available to everyone. Whilst dotnetnuke will pick this up eventually via a scheduled task the easiest thing to do is to go to the file manager and select the recursive sync .

I had a large flash file that file manager kept timing out on so I FTPed it into an existing folder.

File manager didn't see it there so I clicked Recursive synch. Still doesn't see it.

I've double checked and it's there using windows explorer.

Any ideas?

what folder did you check it into - is it a subfolder of the portals folder?
