Folks,

I just created a few child blogs and moved contents from the main blog into appropriate child blogs. Later, I realized that the child blogs have been superseded with categories. On the blog settings, there is an option to convert child blogs to categories. After I click "yes" on the confirmation dialog box, I was expecting the child blogs to disappear and each of the blog entry to be moved to appropriate category. However, nothing seems to happen.

Next, I decided to edit each blog entry and define the category. Although there is a label that says "Categories," there is no edit box or combo box to specify the category.

Is there something that I am missing?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Peter

After searching the net, it appears one has to create a "list of terms" to be used. From Admin-->Taxonomy, I created a new entry called "News Categories" and added a few terms that I need.

However, I don't understand how to associate "News Categories" to my blog. On the settings for Blog_Categories, there are four tabs - Module Settings, Permissions, Page Settings, and Category List. The last tab, Category List, has two fields - Display Mode and Tree Skin. There is no option to associate "News Categories" for my blog.

Can someone please tell me what is it that I am missing?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Peter

Eh, I was wrong. It seems to me that the "categories" and the "child blogs" are one and the same thing. What is really confusing is that when I upgraded the blog module to 5.0.0, my categories were set to be the same as my tags. What is also confusing is that in previous versions of DNN, there was "taxonomy" and "folksonomy" (categories and tags).
