I'm using the Form and List module to create a News-section in my website.
Can I create an RSS-Feed for this?

I don't know anything about RSS, I've been asked if it is possible to create this, and I don't really now where to start my search for the answer. So help is very welcome, a specially at a very basic level!

Thanks!

Hi,

have you enabled RSS in the Module Settings? Is this not enough?

I fear it is not enough... And the F&L module is not really designed to serve as a news module. To be honest, you should try to find something that is, and among others I can recommend Ventrian NewsArticles (http://www.ventrian.com), EasyDNNNews (http://www.easydnnsolutions.com) and Nuntio Articles (http://www.peppertree-solutions.com).

Best wishes
Michael

Hi Michael,

I now have it enabled in the Module Settings of the Form and List module.
But what options does this give me?

As mentioned, I don't know much about RSS, except that it is a way to inform subscribers that new items have been added to the section.
Thanks for your help!

Joost,

it does not give you any option, it is just enabled, and there should be a RSS symbol with a link to the feed somewhere in your module container (as long as the container supports it, otherwise you have to change it there or ask your skinner).

Most of the mentioned news modules are able to provide an RSS feed independently from the core RSS functionality (which is rather poor), I normally use Ventrian NewsArticles where you are able to style the feeds using templates (propably this is possible with the others as well, I don't have too much experience about it).

Best wishes
Michael

Where can I find the core RSS functionality?! I'm using DotNetNuke 5.6.3...

Sorry if this is a rather foolish question, but thanks for your help!
Unfortunately, using a different news module is not an option as our website is already in production.
