yes, you should go to Host > Extensions and uninstall FCK Editor Provider (in providers section) and select "delete files".
Afterwards make sure, the folder /providers/htmleditorproviders/fck is deleted.
There should also no old .dll file with FCKEditor in its name reside in /bin folder.

I think I said before:  I can't see an option under Host > Extensions > Providers to uninstall anything.  There's no menu containing a "delete files" option.  If I click on the Edit Extension icon, I get a list of what's in the package and no option to uninstall.

I can certainly go in in FTP and remove the files as you suggest, but what am I missing on the Host > Extensions > Providers menu ??

you cannot uninstall system providers or providers currently in use.
if FCKEditor provider is listed and no delete icon displayed, it is still default provider. you need to switch to a different editor provider in Host > Editor Management. Another option would be installing CKEditor provider, which will automatically be configured as default provider and you'll be able to uninstall FCKeditor afterwards.

The default editor is now CKEditor.  I installed it and went to the HTML editor manager to make sure it was the default.  Then I looked at Providers again and lo and behold, there was an X to uninstall next to the FCKEditor, which was not there the last time I looked.  Sigh.  At least it's gone now.  What drives me nuts is that CKEditor has been the default for several weeks, and yet I only just saw the X to uninstall today.  Go figure.

this is very strange, but I am glad, you were able to solve it.
Please make sure using FTP or RDP, that the folder /providers/editorproviders/FCK is gone.
