I need to integrate a function that lists 5 latest headlines from a EasyDNNNews module into an area of a page outside of the regular news page. The regular newspage has all the usual stuff, a few articles, news categories on the right side along with archives to former months etc., but on another page, inside a pane that is already created, I need to show some headlines of the latest stories (sql query would be like Select top 5 publishdate, articleid, Datename(month, publishdate) as newsmonth, datepart(dd,publishdate) as newsday, title from easydnnnews order by publishdate desc ) . Is there something among the easydnnnews module controls that has this capability of calling it from another page, as I am pondering writing a custom module with an asp.net datalist , but wondering if easydnnnews has features already (I notice one in the pdf manual that pertains to Article display and Order Posts By), i'm wondering if someone out there has done something simiilar with EasyDnnNews in this fashion.
Thanks for reading and any help offered, Ed

Can't you use the RSSfeed and show the 5 latest newsitems from the feed with an rssmodule?

There is a person here that will enter the news articles on site via the easyDnnNews module interface . What I need to do is take the headlines of the latest 5 news stories, and put them inside a pane on another page on the site. I'm not trying to bring outside news from an already existing news website.

Hi Ed,

There is such a possibility. Add an instance of the module on the page and adjust the filtering settings and Order by. More information can be found here:

Hi Easy, thanks for your help. I just need to display the article titles, the last few according to the latest publish date. I don't need to display the entire article on the page.  So is that customizable thru the control panel that you have an example on  http://www.easydnnsolutions.com/Blog/how-to-use-easydnnnews-for-different-purposes-at-the-same-web-site-44359 . As far as I can see, you  cannot do that from the EasyDnnNews control panel at the module's settings.

Perhaps I need to see how I can add an sql query to display the article titles from the database into the display pane on the page.
