Unfortunately Ventrian stopped the development of it's modules last year.
Ventrian website: http://support.ventrian.com/entries/95655876-Serious-Question

We tried many modules (dnnsolutions, mandeeps etc) to replace the News Articles module, but haven't found the right one.
Even if we find the right module, replacing the new articles module in all website is a lot of work.

I assume more users have this problem and maybe there's a way to continue this module.
Maybe start a github project or another alternative.

Who wants to continue the Ventrian modules?

Hi,
Have you tried DigArticle?  It also has built-in migration to bring in your articles from Ventrian News Articles.

Thanks
Mike

I'm building a site now using digArticle. I'm very pleased with it, and Mike very helpful.

I'm also working on a site that uses EasyDNNNews. I haven't really dug into it yet, but it has a long list of features and customization options.

Those are two possibilities!

Hi

Dig is a good solution ad if you want full control you can also try building it with 2sexycontent. I have a blog post with a sample download and description. Its basically a 2sxc version fo the news module with a news recent and a news category module

Stopping the development of a product is not the same as stopping selling it. I read the comments on that thread. It's not clear if Scott, the developer ,wants to give it away. Did you ask him? If he's not willing then there's no point in asking people if they are willing to support it. If he's willing to donate it to the community, I have a tool which converts VB.NET projects to C#. This doesn't mean it will compile and run. It will do a best effort and you will have to do further conversion manually.

What's the next open source module which comes closest to this module?

Is there a tool which imports the articles to  2xc?
