PA is not for Real Estate but it is a multipurpose module to build everything you need, product catalog, file management, contact manager, real estate, agent listing, video/document catalog, media gallery, crm, simple ecommerce solution, work listing, portfolio etc. etc. Searching only for 'real estate' solution alternative it would be very simplistic.

however yes, I tested each solution similar to PA but none of them is a possible alternative. I spent a lot of time in the last ten years to integrate feature initially missing in PA and the choice to restart over with another module will be the last choice. For now I will wait to see if Scott will give a future to Ventrian and in the meantime due to the source code will add any missing alone!

The problem is that none of us can really rely on anyone's good intentions.
As I have said before - maybe the Ventrian community could help if it's a time issue.

Right.
Good intentions alone can't produce code. And poor communication is the quickest way to lose customers you once had.

The reality is Scott has good intentions but no time to execute them.
But I still don't understand the silence. He pops in every 6 months, makes a forum post about all his grand plans and then he's gone again.
It's so easy to communicate with your customers today via Twitter; it's really inexcusable to be so absent. And blatantly ignore customers emails and service requests.

I'm starting to think Scott is the real Satoshi Nakamoto except he forgot to open source Ventrian before he vanished lol.

Still waiting for Scott here as well. I have used pa quite a lot and it was a very nice module to work with.

I have replicated some of my work using the 2sxc module its just takes a bit more time setting it up but as the templates are razor its much more powerful in the templating department.

Creating custom fields and a category subcategory setup is very doable with 2sxc especially now wit the visual query designer it takes less coding than i used to do it

the advanced filtering and sorting i have manged to do as well on smaller datasets by just doing everything client side. Using the new API I did manage to create custom search forms for some use cases but the kind of searching you could do integrated with PA I have not really tacked as that would be quite an undertaking to do.

Another nice feature is that you can also use 2sxc to query existing module data. So you could query the ventrian tables but I remember the query to get newsitems is not as straigh forward as it should be because there are a lot tables where the article gets its data from.

So if PA returns ( or whatever it will be named now )  I will return to it for some cases but for other cases 2sxc is more powerful in my eyes.

Hi Armand

Thanks for the 2sxc info.  I looked at this last year but it seems to have moved on considerably.
I'm going to make some time for this. Thanks also for your templates and demo page.  Here

I'd also have a look at Open Form (http://openform.codeplex.com/) and Open Content (http://opencontent.codeplex.com/)
