I've already tested your module, it is nice but a lot of feature in PA that I need are missing!...also the source code for advanced personalization is missing!
In any case we have already spoken about easyDnn in this topic perhaps I suggest you to reread it from the start.

Could you be more specific and tell us about these features that are missing? If you tested our module before a year or even a few months ago, then you didn't see our recent improvements and new features related to the custom fields functionality. Since lots of ex Ventrian users are already with us, I'm not sure that you are completely right about missing functionalities. The next version will also bring some new features. Of course, EasyDNNnews is not a copy of PA or NA and some things work differently, but you will also find lots of functionalities in EasyDNNnews that are not available in PA or NA. What is also important, behind the EasyDNNnews module is a company with experienced employees whose daily job is to work on the modules and support customers.

VPA (Ventrian Property Agent)

EDN (EasyDNNNews)

"Of course, EasyDNNnews is not a copy of PA or NA and some things work differently, but you will also find lots of functionalities in EasyDNNnews that are not available in PA or NA."

Right! in fact I was not me to compare EasyDnnNews to the Ventrian property Agent! I'm the first to say that some things you can do with PA you can not do with EDN . The reverse is not the subject of this thread!

However to give you a short answer to your first question down here I write to you the EDN missing list compared to VPA:

  • First of all the things the lack of source code! I was able to do some sophisticated customization thanks to source code in PA.
  • Granular view role permission to show the properties only to those who have the right  permission (example to show new products season only to registered users)
  • 150 tokens against about 350 tokens for the construction of the custom templates! and only for that it would take pages of text to say what is missing in EDN that VPA already has!!!
  • Conditional custom field expression in the templeates
  • VPA is Fully templeated, in EDN for example are missing templates for photo gallery, contact form, print, search etc...
  • Watermark with the logo image or text automatically added to the imported photos.
  • Custum field correlated to other custom field for cascaded selection
  • Personalized layout for each displayed category in product view or category list view
  • Fully integrated in OpenUrlProvider, my favorite friendly url generator. I know you have friendly url but i love Open Url Provider, it is open source, fully customizable with a lot of options and it work great with many other modules and DNN
  • last but not least important the price, $199.95 first year, and subsequent $129.95 against $49.95 for unlimited usage with source code

these are just a few that come to my mind in five minutes, but it would take many days of careful work to list them all!

EasyDnnNews of course is a good job but compared to PA there is still a lot to do. However in the next future it is possible that it to become a good substitute. I can suggest to the EasyDnn staff to study in depth the PA module and integrate it as much as possible in EDN, also the presence of source code can help you a lot in this ... why miss this opportunity? Another tip I can give is ... Why not groped to directly acquire the modules Ventrian into EasyDnn Company? given the declining interest of Scott perhaps he might be interested to sell them!
