Hi Sebastian,

We've attempted to help troubleshoot their issues and I believe we have eliminated the mail server itself as a cause (we tested both on our relay, as well as with the clients own SMTP settings and it happened on both).

You say 'configuration' - do you have any suggestions at what else they may be able to look at?

Just this morning we had a few different individuals on the site ordering through the shopping cart and submitting the online forms. Two of the individuals each made a 1-2 purchases through the shopping cart - all of the notification emails from the cart were received. Both of these individuals also submitted several of the online forms - but not all of those emails came through.

So it's not tied to a user or a singe form. User A submitted the form from Pain, Medication, Negligence and Contact - all emails came through except for Pain. User B submitted Medication, Pain and Falls (Falls was on 6/2) - all emails came through except for Medication. Both were on the site over the span of several hours this morning and other emails from the website were being sent during the time frame that the two missing ones were in.

What type of configuration could cause an intermittent failure like this?

I have a little more information that may be helpful. Our server support team turned on the SMTP logging after you mentioned it. When we had the 2 fails yesterday, they were able to pull some information.

The actual logs are below - it appears that the SmtpPooledStream # had been used in a prior transaction.

this is obviously an issue between .Net on the IIS web Server and the SMTP Server. you might Need to have SMTP Server logs to understand, why it closed the Connection.

Would it be helpful if you could look at the entire log? If so, can I send it to you via email?
