Hi everyone,

After a DNN 080003 clean install + upgrade to 080004 I encounter this problem:

When I try to place a new module on the page, the modules container remains empty (showing the spinner). when inspecting the page I see a 404 to http://myportalname/DesktopModules/internalservices/API/controlbar/GetPortalDesktopModules?category=All&loadingStartIndex=0&loadingPageSize=15&searchTerm=

It seems simmular to the post below which deals with double friendly names in the desktopmodules table. But there aren't any doubles in my database. I tried several skins (you never know..) but unfortunately. I'm kind a stuck now cause it's blocking my planned upgrades.

simular problem (but not the solution): http://www.dnnsoftware.com/forums/thr...

I'll keep serching, but if you have a suggestion... Thanks in advance..

Stefan

Happens this just after adding the module, while the module gets added properly and you just need to reload the page?

Hello Sebastian,

This happens on the click on the 'moldules\add new module' menu item. This triggers the following request to the API:

GET

/DesktopModules/internalservices/API/controlbar/GetPortalDesktopModules?category=All&loadingStartIndex=0&loadingPageSize=15&searchTerm=

HTTP/1.1

which returns with 404 not found.

I'm right now debugging against the source dotnetnuke.web project. When I set my breakpoint on the GetPortalDesktopModules method it doesn't get there. I think there is some routing misconfigured in my project.

since this is not a common error, I assume there is either a specific configuration (Web.config, host or portal setting) or extension intefering. Did you try using default module and container on the extensions page?

I am having the same issue. However, my issue started on 8.0.3 and hoped that upgrading 8.0.4 would fix it but it didn't.

Have you found a solution? this is my post http://www.dnnsoftware.com/forums/forumid/199/threadid/533930/scope/posts
