We need to search in the content of pdf and word files.

Is this possible with the core search of the DNN Platform?
It does run on Lucene so it should be possible...

Or do we need to use a third party module like searchboost?

Willem,

I have no idea if it works with the platform. At least you have to install iFilters for PDF (https://supportdownloads.adobe.com/th...) - but I think that will not be enough. I have a vague remembering that someone said it is only possible in Evoq (or with 3rd party extensions) - but that is a while ago.
