Hi there,

I am experiencing a problem with the events module in IE. I have on most days added at least 4 to 5 events. In IE, not all of these events are displayed. For about 80% of the days, only the first event is displayed. In my case, events from Sat to Mon seem fine, but all other days only display the first event for that day. By click-and-dragging around, you can get the other events to display partially, but they disappear by themselves pretty quickly again.

I couldn't find anything else on these forums to help me, but if there is, a link to the thread would be appreciated.

Anybody have some advice for me?

Thanks!

Hi Whever,

I've never noticed this behaviour before. Ccould you give some details? What module version do you use? Can you see the events in Firefox? What module view is concerned - month, week, list, all? What module theme do you use? And the exact event data of one of the concerned days could be helpful as well to reproduce this issue.

Hi,

We are using version 03.03.08 of the module, but had the same problem with the previous version. Firefox displays everything just fine, and there is no problem with anything. The module displays the data in month-view. The theme is customized to match the site's design.

Here is a link to the page in question:

Another oddity I noticed is that in IE, when I view this page, the CPU is maxed out completely. Can this be related to javascripting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is driving us nuts!

Thanks! :)

I compared your page in IE 7 and Firefox 2, and I saw differences only on 2007-11-02 and 2007-11-03. In IE, the last legible event on 2007-11-02 is "Greyville(N)", and on  2007-11-03 it's "Turffontein (Inside)"; events below are truncated. This is not exactly what you described in your first post, in particular I can see more than the first event on all days. So I'm not sure if I get your problem right.

In case that your problem is indeed the truncated events, here's my guess:
The truncation seems to affect only table cells in rows with days before the current month, in your case days in October.  Those table cells have the CSS class '.EventOtherMonthDay', and in your module theme CSS file, elements of this class are given a fixed height of 100px. Perhaps IE, unlike Firefox, renders all cells of a row with the same height if the first cells have a fixed height. You may check this by deleting the height property of your '.EventOtherMonthDay' class and see what happens.

Thanks for the help! We found a solution along those lines. When we took out the overflow:auto, the problem seemed to go away. The layout is now slightly different, but we are fine with that. Thanks for the advice! :)
