Has anyone gotten notifications to work?  One thing that I found was that the schedule item for the calendar is not started by default, but turning it on didn't help.

Rob:

I'm having the same issue.  I haven't been able to successfully receive reminder notifications.  Nor have I been able to successfully email to enrolled users.

I'm running DNN 3.2.2, and I'm using version 03.02.00 of the calendar module.  I made sure that the DNN Schedule was running, and that the CalendarNotification task is firing every 30 minutes.

Also, I have verified my SMTP settings in DNN.  I am using other modules that send email (such as PTForum) and haven't had any problems.  Therefore, I don't believe that the SMTP settings are an issue here.

I must be overlooking something, though.  Has anyone else had any success with notifications or sending email to enrolled users?

Thanks,
Van

Rob, are you using the BETA5 version of the Calendar (on www.avanced.net).  I did test this and it sucessfully sent out notfications.  Try un-installing the current version and re-installing the BETA5 version.  In order for it to work:

1) make sure the scheduled event is firing (I set it up once for every couple of minutes)

2) on the Calendar Settings, enable event notifications

3) create an event and set for sometime in the future (say later that day).  Also, set the notification time to say 8-12 hours before the event...(the way the schedule code works is that it looks backwards and forwards 7 days for events to send out notifications).

Hope this helps.

Alan

I don't think that I am using that version.  I will upgrade to the latest version and give it a try later tonight.

Alan:

Thanks for the prompt follow up.  I had been using the version from 2/9/06.  I uninstalled it, and installed the Beta5 version (2/26/06) that you referred to.  I setup the CalendarNotification schedule for every 5 minutes, and I enabled it.  I setup an event for tomorrow with an 8-hour event notification lead time, and I'll let you know if it works.

I also tried to send email to enrolled users (within the "Enrollment Settings" section), and I couldn't get it work successfully.  I input a subject and body.  Then I tried selecting an enrollee and then clicking the "Email Selected Enrolled Users" link.  I didn't receive the email.

On a second event, I did the same thing except I tried the "Email All Enrolled Users" link.  I didn't receive the email here either.

What might I have overlooked?

Thanks,
Van
