My event calendar is working with the exception that those events I added as reocccurring cannot be viewed or edited when clicked on. The roll over of the event shows its contents, but I have hyperlinks imbeded in the text that my users can not get to... Yes, I doubled checked that I have Friendly URLs enabled. I'm running the 03.03.07 version of the Event Module.

AFAIR this problem has not been reported before, and I couldn't reproduce it so far with some recurring test events in Events 3.3.7 (could view and edit them), so here are some "shot-in-the-dark" questions to get some more details:

  • Can you provide an online example?
  • What's your DNN version?
  • Do you get the same problem on a clean DNN installation, with one of the default skins, and without other modules on the page?
  • What are the exact event data, in special the recurrence settings and the description text + links?

Mike,  DNN 04.03.07 (I know...)  I found the problem is directly related to the recurring weekly events. I have monthly events set and have no problems with them, only the weekly events(W1) (ie M,T,W,TH,F sets string in event record of 0111110).  I haven't looked into the event source yet, but something isn't getting set correctly. For now I have to brute force day by day calendar entries for two months , ouch... Problem is you can't edit them once defined so I had to physically delete them from the table.

Event data is simple text string and hyperlink (built from standard event editor)
Recurring settings are Weekly, M,T,W,TH,F and end date

All things the same with a monthly event works fine...

Thanks for responding to my question, best regards !

Hi Peter,

I tried your recurrence pattern on a new DNN 4.3.7 with Events 3.3.7, but I had no problems to view and edit the event. So I have currently no idea why it doesn't work for you, sorry! Last wild guess: do you have any other (third-party) modules on the page?

Hmmm, Yes I do. I have my old BigFoot calendar still on the page in a hidden container. I didn't want to delete it until I was satisfied with the new one using the standard DNN Events Module. I'll delete it on Monday and see if that changes the behavior. Until then, have a nice weekend !
