Hi there,

I'm just in the planning stages for my new site.  The built-in events module is not too bad, but I have some questions about it.

How granular is the access control?

What I want is for the calendar to be viewable by everyone, including guests, of course.  Access to adding new events and editing the events you've already posted (i.e. YOUR events) should be allowed after a registered user has join a special user group or something.  (Sorry, I'm new to DNN, so please excuse my lack of correct terminology.)  A registered user in this user group would NOT be able to edit or delete events that he or she did not post.

Is this possible with DNN and the default events calendar out-of-the-box?

If not, does anyone have suggestions on how to accomplish this

Hi,

Yes you can do this with the DNN Events module. Just give Registered Users, (or an appropriate Security Role), edit permissions to the module. The users will then be able to add/change/delete their own events. You can also make this moderated if you wish.

Cheers
Roger
