I looked through Gemini and through this forum to see if anyone else has experienced this, but didn't find anything so I wanted to see if it was something in my setup or an issue in Events 4.0.2 and DNN 5.

I wanted to customize the custom fields through the language editor, but the language files for Events was not included in the language editor. I was able to modify the .resx files through the file system, but not through DNN's language editor.

Has anyone else seen this?

Hi Patrick,

I just went through and set up a new DNN5 install, then installed Events 4.0.2. I could then see the Events language files in the language editor. I also fought my way through installing English UK as a language (and I have to say the method seems pretty obscur), and the files also appeared in the language editor for UK as well.

Cheers
Roger

Thanks for checking into this Roger. Something must be odd on my local environment. I'm glad it isn't something universally wrong with DNN/Events.

You have to dig a bit to find it. On the left hand tree view, open up:

  • Local Resources
    • Desktop Modules
      • Events
        • App_LocalResources

I recommend in the next version of DNN that the custom field editing be done from the module editor.

I am having the same problem, and have yet to find the place where I can change the name of this 'Custom Field 1', and possibly add more fields. I've been digging through menus for about an hour now, and I just can't spend anymore time trying to find this one option/setting.

Does anyone really know where this option can be found? 'Name of field to be displayed can be set via Portal Admin/Languages menus.' isnt quite helpful, espceially since there is no 'Languages' under the Admin menu, only under the Host menu, and from there all there is, is the ability to Edit the default language, where u can edit about 2 options on the follow page. Does anyone know the real way to get to where you can change the Custom Fields? No one so far has said how to... but keep mentioning abstract ways to get there (aka Host ->Languages ->?, etc ).

Running DNN5 and Events 4.0.2

Thanks for any help!
