I'm not sure what version of DNN you are using, but I can't see the Languages dialogue in DNN 5.0.0. However it is there in DNN 5.1.0. I guess this is one of the bugs or features in the earlier beta version of DNN5.

If you have access the file system, you can update it in the appropriate resx files under the DesktopModules\Events directory. I think it is in the SharedResources resx.

Cheers
Roger

Thanks for the help Roger. I was able to modify \desktopmodules\Events\App_LocalResources\Settings.ascx.resx (the only place where 'Custom Field' was found), and change the entry to look like this:

  <data name="CustomField1.Text" xml:space="preserve">
    <value>POC</value>
  </data>

I wanted 'POC' instead of 'Custom Field 1', so I simply replaced it. The only problem now tho.. is that nothing has changed and when creating a new event, I still see the option for 'Custom Field 1'. Is there any other place this info could be hiding, or do I need to take any further steps to implement this? I managed to get to the Languase Editor and see the Settings.acsx.resx file from there, with the values I specified... so I'm not sure where it's getting the value from. Any ideas?

Thanks again!

Thanks again Roger, I just saw those and I'm editing the, all up now. I seem to have renamed  Custom Fields 1+2 just fine in all the places that it needs to be changed... even tho it's a pretty tedious process to do something so simple. Now I'm trying to figure out how to add Custom Field #3. Any idea if that's possible to do easily.. or will I end up hacking stuff apart for a while? :)

I'll post results if I find a good way to do it. I've already added in the Custom Field entries into the resx files for my 3rd field, but as I thought, they didnt just pop up on the Edit Event/Event Settings after they were added. I guess a good place to start would be to look in the Event acsx files perhaps?

Sorry, I'm relativly new to DNN, and didnt know this much manual tweeking and editing was involved, so I have some learning to do :)

Hi,

Adding extra custom fields will require a substantial amount of code change, for which you will need to download the source version from the downloads page and modify in Visual Studio.

Cheers
Roger
