Hi Roger,

Hope you had a good holiday!

I believe the answer to these two questions is 'no' but just to be sure ...

I have set up several child portals, each one with its own calendar and portal specific categories. The client now wants to incorporate everything in to the main portal with dedicated sections for each of the portals. Fine for the most part but ...

1. Is there any way to export the entire child portal calendars and import them to the main portal?

2. Is there any way for the individual calendars to display just their own categories, ie not display the categories of other calendars within the portal?

Cheers ... and welcome back!

Hi Pingle,

Yep excellent holiday scuba diving in Scotland. And I'm off again to dive in Egypt in 10 days time - how good is that!

  1. Assuming these are all in the same database, you could just go edit the tables to 'move' the events to teh new portal/module/tab. You would just need to accurately change all the relevant values in all the tables. Or else you could export/import using SQL Server Management Studio Express.
  2. If you set filters in the module settings, and then untick Enable Category Select, they will show only the specified categories in teh drop down lists (I hope - I have had too many problems with the new multi-category capability in v6 - I'm still waiting for EPT to release 6.0.3).

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger,

I think you're being greedy with the holidays ... but then I live by the sea 24/7 ;)

1. Ugh ... yes, all in the same DNN installation but me and SQL don't get along very well. Not a major problem as I can recreate the calendars (and charge the client for my time).

2. Unfortunately, I need to display the category select so that people can filter for themselves but without seeing the categories for the other calendars. Is this feature a possibility for a future release?

Cheers!

On point two, It may be possible to add a setting to show the category selection but with only the categories selected in the filter. If you can raise that on CodePlex we can investigate for the next release. Just don't know when that will be.

Cheers
