I am working with 2 separate instances of an Events Module and I would like each one to display a different category of events. For example, I would like the Events module on page A to display events from category A. I would like the Events module on page B to display events from category B. No matter how I configure it, whatever changes I make on page A are also reflected on page B. I cannot seem to find instructions about this process in the documentation. It would seem reasonable to have the capability to display unique events i=on separate pages. Please help.

Suggestion: Create a 3rd instance that holds all events (the master calendar). Maintain your events in the master calendar. This module can be on a page that is not visible to normal visitors.

Now use the 2 existing modules and point to the master as subcalendar to include (setting). Filter each of the 2 on the category you want (setting). Do not add the events in these 2 calendars, use the master calendar instead.

I cannot get this to work. I have the 3 pages, each with an events module. The sub-calendar tab in Edit Settings has no calendars ro select from. Also, when I make any changes to the settings of one of the modules it also carries over to the other 2. This prohibits me from filtering to a unique category on each calendar. Whatever I filter to on one is also filtered in the other two.

I am running DNN v6.2.2 and Events v6.0.2.

Last year we were able to have separate calendars with unique events on the same site. Something evidently changed.

Your problem is because you are copying the module instance from one page to another, rather than installing a brand new instance on the page. The module does not support settings per TabModule instance, only per Module instance - if you copy the module from one page to another, they all share the same set of settings.

Cheers
Roger

Accepted Answer

Please check  that you have created separate instances of the Events module, and not copies

Have the setting of the main calendar to NOT Include Other Site Event Modules

Give each module instance a descriptive title, so you can easily distinguish between them
