ok. I think i can easly solve the first issue. But what with the collation. Db collation is SQL_LATIN1_GENERAL_CP1_CI_AS but in some tables its LATIN1_GENERAL_CI_AS.

Table dbo.files columns: extension, contenttype

table dbo.portalLocalization columns: CultureCode, PortalName, LogoFile, Footertext, Description, keywords, backgroundfile

table dbo.users columns: Username, Firstname, Lastname, Email, Displayname, LastIPAddress

Please help :)

But no solution for error 6.0.0 and 6.1.0

Hi Stephany,
I've done a couple of tricky upgrades from older versions which have thrown many collation conflicts. These probably originated when the database was moved to a different database server at some point with a different default config.

I completed both upgrades, fixing the collation issues, using this method:

- Create copy of your site (at 5.4.4) on development server
- Install clean version of 5.4.4 on same server, include key modules but don't worry about content, it's a skeleton site
- Backup both sites
- Perform SQL schema comparison using SQL Compare (http://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-development/sql-compare/), it's easy to use and the Eval copy should be sufficient
- Fix any Schema differences by synchronising your site to the schema of the clean skeleton site
- Backup both sites
- Upgrade both sites incrementally e.g. first to 5.6.3
- Run the schema comparison again and fix any further SQL issues
- Back up both sites
- Repeat until you get a clean upgrade at your target version.

This is a good process if there are many collation issues, if only a few then it may be possible to correct them manually. Feel free to contact me via www.chord9.co.uk if you need further help, and I'll try and assist.
