Hi,

I'm hoping this is in the right place, I think so given the symptome of the problem i'm having

I want to create a page template by exporting a page with content on it already, as per - http://www.dnnhero.com/Videos/tabid/59/EntryId/109/How-to-create-a-Page-Template-in-DotNetNuke-2nd-shot-Video-104.aspx

I tried it on my local machine, which is a fresh install, never been upgraded, and it works perfectly, all content is included.

WHen i come to do it on the production site, it copies but without any content in the HTML modules. When i look, i don't have any option to import/export content

After some hai pulling and research i checked the module definitions and discovered i cannot set the portable, searchable or upgradable checkboxes for the HTML module, and without portable I can't export content. I then  found this thread http://forums.asp.net/t/920476.aspx/1which suggests a similar problem being caused by an upgrade, but it's very old and i don't quite understand what the solution was.

However, we did try to upgrade the site from V5.06.02, to a version 6, then back to v5.06.02, so I suspect the problem may have been caused by the upgrade, rather than a problem in the module?

So my question is, has anyone else experienced this?

Can i reinstall the HTML module safely without losing any content in andy of the modules already placed on the site?

Any help or advice would be most appreciated.

 Many thanks

 John

What version of DNN are you currently on? I would recommend getting onto 6.1.2 as the import/export works in that version.

You can also check to see if DNN knows it supports the function on the Host/Extensions page, edit the extension and see if IPortable is selected. If not, try "updating" the extension with the update button, that will cause DNN to check if the module supports it and might enable it again.
